About Me
My name is Ravneet Kaur, an Indian origin now living in Australia.
I am a Type 1 diabetic, diagnosed at the age of 7.
Ever since my diagnosis, Life has not been a smooth ride. It has been an unexpected tale like a roller coaster ride, bringing out the best and worst of me every moment, every day.
After going through a lot of self-speculation, I had a vision that I might not be the only one going through problems like these. I felt the need of creating a source of getting out my stories to the world, trying to inspire anyone across the world who might be in a similar turmoil. Just to let them know that they're not alone. I thought creating a website might be the best way to do it.
My Bitter Sweet Life is a place of creativity, exploration, and inspiration.
Founded in 2018 by me, a science geek and a business enthusiast from India, it has grown into a collaborative place of projects, diabetes blog and business tips, advice, and positivity. I believe strongly in creating a life you love, and furthermore, that doing so should be easy! Most of the advice and how-to content on this site is targeted at those with a medical difficulty and presented in a way that makes sense. I hope that you leave this site with either an inspiration, an idea, or a feeling of confidence and encouragement.
When I started working on this blog, I had a long series of sittings late into the night and early under the fading stars of the dawn. The profundity and range of experiences in my life mesmerized me.
Life is not always easy to follow, it requires greater skills than I possessed. I’ve always found it to be fresh and stimulating. There are complexities, imperfect metaphors, and subplots in every narrative of life, but gradually the unfolding of the bigger picture takes the form of a continuous discourse.
I mustered the courage to recollect such memories so I could pen them down before they were buried irretrievably under the sands of time.
I’m writing this blog for the ordinary people facing extraordinary challenges in life, an acknowledgement of the humblest and simplest people who surround us but are lesser-known, not so simple complications in their lives. For anyone who’s struggling out there, this is a reminder that you’re not alone.
For myself, writing this blog has been like a journey of self-revelation and a pilgrimage.
Through this blog, I was blessed with the revelation that the real joy of living can be found by communicating with your inner self and knowing the immense source of hidden knowledge within yourself.
Many of you may never meet me in person, but I hope you will enjoy my company through this blog, and that we can be spiritual friends.
I had to go through a lot of turmoil weighing the intimate moments of my life and garnish it together so I could include only a few incidents that provide only a thumbnail sketch of my life. It is quite possible that the contribution of certain important people might have gone unrecorded for.
I am solely responsible for such shortcomings, which are of course completely unintentional.
